Chemical Dependency 

Chemical Dependency is a physical allergy combined with a mental obsession. In the late 1960's, the American Medical Association classified alcoholism as a disease and later included drug addiction. The disease concept is the accepted standard for state-of-the-art recovery centers. At Treatment Solutions of South Florida, we strive to instill this recovering identity to our clients. With internalization of this concept comes acceptance and with acceptance comes relief from guilt and shame. For a disease is not of our own making.

Dual Diagnosis or Co-existing Disorder

As modern research advanced, it became clear that treatment for underlying conditions and addiction must be treated simultaneously.  Early treatment of addiction rules out the need to deal with preexisting conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, phobic disorders and bipolar conditions.  At Treatment Solutions of South Florida, we adhere to this principle as part of our mission statement.  Each client is evaluated by our Medical Director, a Board Certified Psychiatrist.

Environment

Treatment Solutions of South Florida is a community based recovery treatment center.  We provide a feeling of security and warmth rarely seen in a recovery environment. The word family is not a cliché in our facilities. The residence is located in sunny Deerfield Beach and is the perfect place for quiet reflection and recovery.  Treatment occurs in a relaxed, comfortable and structured environment in which our clients are provided with 24-hour supervision and support by a caring professional staff.
 
Individual Pathology
 
In layman's terms, this is the internal process that drives self-defeating behavior.  Every person is unique as they are a combination of their nature and their nurture.  Each client who struggles with life-controlling issues has their own process.  At Treatment Solutions of South Florida, we take a holistic approach to treating each individual.  We strive not to fit a client into "our program", but rather to find the program that fits the client.
 
Co-Dependency Therapy
 
Showing care and concern for a loved one in need is a universal condition. There are relationships, however, that develop into a destructive dance of control and manipulation.  This can occur even with having only the best intentions at heart.  Every intervention family members make result in yet another battle over their loved one's right to continue their fatal addiction. The insanity for control continues unimpeded until the cycle is broken. TSSF has over twenty years of experience providing families help for co-dependency and adult children with addiction issues.
 
The Family as One
 
The systems theory states, "For every action there is a reaction."  The disease of addiction is truly a family illness. Each family member cannot help but be affected by its inherent destruction of one's healthy coping skills relating to mind, body and spirit. At Treatment Solutions of South Florida, we encourage family participation either in direct conjoint treatment or the development of their own recovery process at home. When a client returns home from treatment, each family member's role must change for recovery to continue.
 
Continuum of Care

One of the unique features of Treatment Solutions of South Florida is our multi-phased individualized continuum of care.  Depending on the individual, we can offer up to six months of multi-phased treatment options.  For those individuals needing to return home after completing our intensive residential phase, we will assist them with finding quality aftercare.  Those individuals who have completed intensive residential treatment elsewhere can take advantage of our extended care treatment.  At Treatment Solutions of South Florida, it is our belief that 30 days of intensive day/night treatment is only the beginning of recovery.  A daily commitment to a recovering lifestyle is essential.
